That is solely the biggest lesson I've learned in treating patients in the past 10 years.
Just move.
That's it.
Motion is lotion. You'll never forget it.
Whether you're a total knee, rotator cuff repair, frozen shoulder, older adult, young child, or chronic back pain patient, all of you will benefit from movement. It's as simple as that.
Movement does a few things.
It releases endorphins which make us feel good.
It lubricates our joints which makes us feel less stiff.
It corrects the terrible posture we put our bodies in sitting at a desk 8 hours a day. Quick side note. Want to know the best way to fix your posture? Just move. Don't worry so much about "the correct way to sit for 8 hours". Just move.
I can say with the utmost certainty that if you incorporate more movement into your day, you will live and healthier and happier life.
